Runways, I'm somewhat embarrassed to admit that I don't actually understand your last two posts. Are you complaining that the proposed GPS-based ILS feature hasn't made it into the product?

Exactly. That is what is called technology@yourdisposal.com. But, alas...Abbey National is right...Life is Difficult Enough.co.uk. Hence, forum discussions are now focused mainly on discussing specs of umpteen brilliant GPS box sets & aspiring to file flight plans that are ¨well worth checking out if you have IFR filing needs¨, at a time when making SD a comprehensive unique package by the gradual incorporation of actual E-IFR instruments into it is ¨by no means certain that they will ever make it into the product¨ ie SD.
And as said we may also need to fit the kitchen sink into the aeroplane, to have a workable solution for our flying needs.

I agree that an easy way to move woudl be useful. I have SD (plan) installed on main PC at home, and on a tablet device that I sometimes take to the airfield.
I sort of cope by copying files between teh two but it is a bit haphazard.
However I dont have a mobile printer to produce an updated PLOG, so it woudl be nice to synch with a memory stick, and run on the flying club PC.

Just to note that we are exhausting the specifications of our robust, mobile, colour, touch-screen, sim, GPS & WiFi capable, sunlight visible, just about, with everything else compatible devices, elsewhere in the forum.
It would be logical to enable SD on one single device to plan and navigate on the move, when all we are talking about is ´on the move´, flying that is. Or is Life (still) Difficult Enough´?, as the Abbey National logo used to say.

Agreed regarding plan/mobile. What i was thinking regarding vNav and mobile, was awareness regarding TopOfDesend and BottomOfClimb based on the decend/climb profile used while planning. As for weight and balance, I rarely really know the exact figures before in the plane, so i'd like to update my planned W&B on the mobile as well. Just my toughts! kevin

If its just a question of putting the various files that are kept somewhere within MyDocuments on the PC and transferring to the stick, sounds fairly straightforward. Hope this can be done fairly soon. I do agree that planning should really take place on Plan not Mobile .. except for a GoTo! D

Hi Kevin, For the moment we want Plan to remain the planning product. We want people to be able to do basic planning on their mobile device, but adding the full capabilities of the Plan product to the devices isn't something we're planning for the moment. It is likely we will enhance the mobile product to be aware of the vertical plan you have done on your PC so that it can tell you useful things like when to begin your descent, though.

SkyDemon Plan should run just fine from a memory stick, but it will act as a fresh installation so you won't have your settings, your aircraft and user waypoint library or your charts. Furthermore it will act as the evaluation version. It is possible that in the future we may make it easier to put all such data on your memory stick too, and we'll give this some thought.

Ive been thinking the same thing.
Also looking forward to seeing the vNav capabilities on the mobile version, giving you abilities to plan climbs and descends.
Any thoughts on incorporating check-lists?
W&B wold also be nice to have on the mobile version.
Just my quick thoughts.

I would like to suggest being able to run SD PC from a memory stick. Means you can just take the stick to the airfield and plug into their PC. This wd be especially useful abroad when internet connection is not easy (or if easy, such as via tethering your mobile, its very expensive and slow). Any thoughts? D
